ABOUT 8CCC

8CCC, National Winner of the NAB’s 2006 Volunteer Awards and the first FM radio station in Central Australia, has been broadcasting since 1981. Triple C provides niche programming, thereby serving audiences that are not catered for by mainstream media. It offers a real listening alternative to other stations in the region.

8CCC can be heard in:

  • Alice Springs, population approximately 28000, located almost half way between Adelaide and Darwin; and

  • Tennant Creek, population about 3000, remotely situated 505 km from Alice Springs and approximately 1,000 km from Darwin.

Upfront Outback Radio 8CCC broadcasts a range of programs including Triple C Country Mornings, BBC World Service and Radio for the Print Handicapped, as well as local magazine shows and music presented by a team of talented and dedicated volunteers.
