WreathFest 2023 – Pirate

Pirate from The Black Wreath joins the Big Brekky to tell us about WreathFest, the Black Wreath record label and venue's 12th year anniversary. Celebrating with two huge nights of music on an outdoor stage, the event kicked off on Friday with a line up of local and interstate heavy music bands, then a DJ night on Saturday. Established on 11.11.2011, the local label also run Blacken Open Air Festival at Ross River, east of Mparntwe/Alice Springs, which began in 2013. Celebrating 12 years of the record label and approximately 7 years of The Black Wreath venue, Pirate says the venue "plays "an important role in the community. It creates a space where a lot of our sub-cultures and niches and creatives can get together and put on events that you can't really get anywhere else in town."
