Ugandan-Australian DJ and producer KSMBA (Bella Kasimba) earned a scholarship in London at the age of 18, to study at the Royal College of Music as a saxophonist and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Performance with honours. Currently based in Naarm/Melbourne, their music has evolved into electronic dance and techno and through underground clubs and festivals has gained a passionate following who resonate with the music and the message.

“I acknowledge the privilege I have to be able to take up even a small amount of space in the industry. I feel like coming from a community that isn’t often heard or given a seat at the table has made me realise my intention with music is to show up in these opportunities I get as honest.”

After Everything, KSMBA released Eyes reflecting further on what it means to be a Black queer person in the music industry and going even deeper. “I wrote this track as an expression of surrender. Letting go of control, of expectations — just closing your eyes and allowing whatever comes to wash over you.”
The much awaited EP was released in June and is part of 8CCC Feature Album this week.
