Alice Springs Folk Club

On Jaidyn’s Rock Nation, we had Jim Patterson. Jim is part of the Borderers with Denise Alexander. They appeared at the Convention Centre last Saturday evening as lead into St Patrick’s Day last Tuesday. Supported by accomplished local multi-instrumentalists Gleny Rae Virus and Anders Pfeiffer.

On Arvos with Andy, we had local singer songwriter folk artist Alison Mapleson. Alison’s latest single Siull a Run (Shool a Roon) from her ‘Come into the Light’ album. Alison’s songs are stories that come straight from the heart, mostly of love and heart ache.

On Jaidyn's Rock Nation we showcased local acoustic artist Cam Wust gave 8CCC the opportunity to play his newly released music. Cam is an Eastside resident who has turned his hand to some serious song writing more recently. Cam’s music is best described as between Folk, Country and Rock like that of music legends Jim Croce and Neil Young. Cam Wust music is produced and sound engineered by Jez Conlon Left of Elephant Sound recorded in Alice Springs.

Jaidyn's Rock Nation witnessed the emerging local talent of The Wanted Gems. Madison and Micaela Hull, whose angelic harmonies and heartfelt song writing are now captivating audiences across Australia. Known for blending indie-folk storytelling with dream-pop textures, their music has taken them from festival stages to supporting artists such as Guy Sebastian, Pacific Avenue, Kingswood, and The Dreggs. They also recently won Pop, Youth, and Folk Song of the Year at the 2025 NT Music Awards. 

On Arvo’s with Andy, we have local folk singer songwriter Barry Skipsey. Barry’s music can describe our national identity, this identity can seem to not change between generations, and his music helps to associate with our Australian identity. Barry will be appearing at the Bean Tree this Father's Day.
