‘The Alice Birth Project’ has been awarded ‘Best New Program- talks’ by the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia at their National conference and awards ceremony.

Congratulations to Nicole Lee, series producer who says:
“To all the mums, dads and grandparents out there who made this project possible- I’d like to thank you all… This project is not just about having kids.

Its about community. And how, when a town comes together, they can make our kids into what they are today…. this is what makes small-town living so fantastic.”

Thankyou to the 8CCC board and all the Presenters and Volunteers who work hard to make 8CCC a great reflection of our diverse Central Australian community- with a special mention to Joy Taylor who has worked tirelessly at 8CCC to create great local content.

This would not have been possible without the partnership and support of Alice Springs Town Council, Birth and Beyond Parent Resource Centre- Alice Springs, Alice Springs Hospital Maternity Ward, management and midwives, the Community Broadcasting Foundation, Central Australian Community Toy Library, Su Su Mama at Multicultural Community Services of Central Australia and of course the Alice Springs, Northern Territory community.

20 community members have shared their diverse experiences of birth over 14 episodes with stories that both delight and inform, giving insight and celebrating giving birth in a remote part of the country.
