AGAINST THE RUSH is this week’s 8CCC Feature Album, ahead of it’s launch at Jump Inn on Saturday 13 June. The second album from Mparntwe post-punk eco-queers Stellar Sea is a powerful, urgent, and deeply felt record shaped by the realities of a changing world.

Filled with love and rage, the album features dynamic co-lead vocalists All Things P. Chi and Rosie Wild, alongside the driving musical force of Anders Pfeiffer (drums), Jez Conlon (bass) and LJ Devlin (guitar). Together, Stellar Sea craft a sound that’s both raw and expansive, grounded in post-punk energy while reaching toward something more atmospheric and reflective. Drawing inspiration from the vast arid landscapes they call home, the band acknowledges the privilege of living and creating on unceded Arrernte Country.
Over the past two years, Against The Rush has taken shape slowly — like clouds forming on the horizon — gathering weight, tension, and release. It’s made with deep regard for the earth and each other, and a desire to dismantle systems of extraction and oppression with the care and attention and connection that finds each other against the rush.
Their message is clear — love is not passive; it is an active, necessary force. Slow down for a minute. Step out of the rush. Against The Rush invites you to listen.
