Original Frenzal Rhomb band member, Jason 'Jay' Whalley spoke to 8CCC's Kate Lyons-Dawson about the punk rock band's current tour which will include an appearance at this year's Blacken Open Air at Ross River Resort this weekend. Some 25 years since their album A Man is Not a Camel, last week's 8CCC feature album, the tour is collecting the next generation of fans. Their tour continues into October, plus some Froth and Fury Festival gigs in January 2026.

Dan the Underdog is back again with another collaboration with First Nation Hip Hop artist Tommy Gunn. Their latest single is FTP. This track speaks on gun violence and a deep dive into injustice people can feel in our community experience.

The Araluen MLA Ms. Robyn Lambley brought her concerns about voting to 8CCC Afternoon show. The Minister has raised the question “When fewer than half of Territorians vote, can we still call it democracy? With the turnout at the August NT election local Government sitting at just 54% the state of democracy must be seriously questioned. Some regions recorded a turnout of less than 10%. Lily-Grace Grant is an emerging young artist. Lilly-Grace is now cutting her way through the airways with her exciting new single, ‘Permanent Scar’, which is a co-write with 3 x Golden Guitar winner Max Jackson. It is a story about young love and tattoos. Matt Fell has produced a finger-clicking banjo-picking track, with runaway guitars and a Johnny Cash train-rattling beat. Tonight, performing at the Epilogue Lounge at 6pm well-known Country-Folk singer Emlyn Johnson. Emlyn has been performing for 20 years. His musical influences are Cat Stevens, Iggy Pop and Gareth Liddiard. As part of the Road Tour Emlyn Johnson heads next to Katherine on Friday the 19th at GYRACC then Bastard Town in Darwin on Saturday and COX Club Wagait on Sunday.
