Join Alecia and Diana, presenters of Monday night’s Local Connections Live alongside 8CCC’s Local Content Coordinator, Corinne O’Keefe this Monday 24th June for a Tjintu Desert Band Special!
Tjintu Desert Band has a new name, and an upcoming tour to show for it. The former Sunshine Reggae-ers will be soon embarking on a four-state national tour, but not before gracing the 8CCC studio with an exclusive acoustic happening and a run-down on what’s been on the radar for the Tjintu Desert Band musicians.
Watch out for their new album, Tjamuku Ngura (Grandfather’s Country), scheduled for release this October. The album will be featuring new and expanded direction for the band into the realms of funk and rock, whilst still paying homage to their desert reggae roots. The launch for the album is to take place this October as part of the Mbantua Festival
in Alice Springs.
Listen in to Local Connections 6-7pm Monday 24th June, to catch the Tjintu Desert Band musicians live in the 8CCC Studio.
ArtbackNT: Arts Development and Touring is coordinating the ‘Desert to Saltwater Tour’ featuring

of Australia to perform from 29 June – 21 July at eleven concerts throughout NSW, VIC, QLD and ACT
