Ian McAdam the Director from the Rusted Gems Program highlighted a hands-on program where students from Yirara College and community members restore and decorate classic cars. It’s more than just cars – it’s about pride, leadership, health, culture, and purpose. This year is the fourth year of the program being part of Red CentreNATS. Around 20 students from schools like Yirara College and Yipirinya School, and from communities such as Papunya and Harts Range, are taking part. At least five vehicles will be proudly displayed and driven at RCN 2025. The cars are the entry point – what really matters is the confidence, direction and community pride that grows out of this program.
