Happy International Women’s Day.
In community radio across Australia we have 8,502 female volunteers involved in all aspects of community radio – from making programs to taking roles on community boards of management. The main area where women are under-represented is in the community broadcasting engineering/technology sector. (From the last Community Broadcasting Association of Australia station census – 2012)
So on this day we acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of past and present women broadcasters, volunteers, staff and of course listeners.
