On the first of November the Northern Territroy Volunteer of the Year Awards held their Central Australia Awards Ceremony before heading up to Darwin for the top end awards the following day.
Volunteering NT CEO Evelyn O’Loughlin said, “Over 100 nominations were received, making it a challenging task for the judges to decide both Central Australia and Top End recipients”.
8CCC wish to congratulate Sonic Titans host- Laurie May whose hard work volunteering with the Totem Theatre, Arid Lands Environment Centre and 8CCC was acknowledged with the award of Chief Ministers Central Australian Volunteer Of The Year. The Hon Dale Wakefield was on hand to present Laurie with her award.
8CCC is driven by Volunteers from the Alice Springs and Tennant Creek community. Our presenters and board all donate their time, skills and passion to ensure that community driven media continues to thrive. Volunteering SA-NT are the peak body for volunteering in Central Australia and have worked closely with 8CCC to share the stories of volunteers and their contribution to the community.
