Business Manager and Curator of the Women’s Museum of Australia, Alexandra Drummond, chats to The Big Brekky about upcoming events for International Women’s Day. On Friday 8th of March the Museum is hosting their annual fundraiser, the International Women’s Day Breakfast, a morning of inspirational guest speakers around the theme ‘Embracing Equity -Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories’. This is followed by the International Women’s Day Equal Futures Fair in the evening, a free event with music, panel speakers, market and food stalls and a free BBQ. The Equal Futures Fair is organised in collaboration with 8CCC Community Radio, as well as the Alice Springs Town Council, CA Women’s Legal Service, Women’s Safety Services of CA, and MHACA.

This year, the WMA also celebrates through these events the 100th birthday of Jose Petrick OAM, revered local historian and long serving volunteer of the WMA!
