Those attending Wide Open Space Festival last weekend may have benefited from the generosity of The Desert Fruit Company, who were handing out free dates – of the fruit variety. Located southeast of Alice Springs, just shy of the edge of the Simpson Desert, the Tamara Date Plantation was established in 1991, and has been managed by members of the Tamara Co-operative since 2014.
