This morning on 8CCC, we heard from Molara Awen, Akulah Agbami and the Sheba Soul Ensemble performers, a multidisciplinary arts company led by Welsh Black women, focused on social transformation and equality. Performing all over the UK, with a trip to Washington as well, they set their sights on understanding First Nations from the oldest cultural tradition in the world. With the help of a grant from the Welsh Government the Ensemble arrived in Mparntwe Alice Springs to listen and learn from Indigenous Central Australians. They are providing workshops to Saltbush while they are here.
Wales is committed to becoming the first anti-racist nation in the world by 2030 and proclaim “Being anti-racist is more than just not being racist. It’s proactively taking anti-racist action.”
Enjoy their amazing repertoire as they celebrate Black excellence!
