MCSCA Chair, Mona Ulak and Ola Rzes­zows­ka, Community Projects and Events Officer at Alice Springs Town Council dropped into the 8CCC Brekky Show to hoighlight the Diwali Night Markets on this evening and tell the community what the celebration Diwali, festival of light is all about.

Kate had a great Brekky chat with Sammy Butcher, well known for his output with the Warumpi Band but also for 40 years of mentoring young people and being an important support in his community of Papunya. Recently he's been travelling alot and is in Mparntwe as part of MCSCA's Big Day Out in Harmony for a very special performace. Anas from Evora Care and Ali from the MCSCA Board were in the studio to share our conversation.

This year's Big Day Out in Harmony headliner L-FRESH the LION caught up with Kate Lyons-Dawson on the Big Brekky Show. Hailing from South West Sydney to Punjabi immigrant parents, his music blends personal narratives with the Sikh values his parents taught him of equality and purpose, carving out a space for diasporic identity within the global hip-hop movement. Since he was at our Wide Open Space festival in 2015, L has been chosen to represent the Australian Hip Hop scene at 2023 SummerStage Festival in Central Park, New York, played with Elton John and generally just forged his own style in his unique voice.
