The Araluen MLA Ms. Robyn Lambley brought her concerns about voting to 8CCC Afternoon show. The Minister has raised the question “When fewer than half of Territorians vote, can we still call it democracy? With the turnout at the August NT election local Government sitting at just 54% the state of democracy must be seriously questioned. Some regions recorded a turnout of less than 10%. Ms Lambley states “That is not democracy – it is the absolute failure of our the electoral system”. The Arvos with Andy raised this in conversations with Araluen MLA.
