marcus

Today we meet Marcus Williams. As a 15 year old, Marcus left inner city Fitroy looking for adventure. We travel with him to Broome in the early 1980s where a chance encounter shaped the direction of his life.

Camels got under his skin.

We follow Marcus as he finds a mentor, learns about caring for camels in one of the first tourist businesses in Broome and experiences another side of life in the pearl industry, and discover what then drew him to Central Australia.

This is the first of a two-part Centralian Yarn, and we hope you enjoy it!
