Darwin-based folk & alt-country artist Crystal Robins spoke to the Big Brekky Show about her 11-track debut LP Moonflower, which dropped on 14 February, 2025, it blends her signature style with some fresh surprises.
Robins has just returned from an interstate tour, performing her new music at festivals including Cygnet Folk Festival (TAS) and Tamworth Country Music Festival (NSW). The past year saw her take on opportunities to support notable touring artists in her hometown of Darwin, including KINGSWOOD, Josh Pyke, Brad Cox, and Dan Sultan. In 2024, Robins was also a senior graduate of the prestigious CMAA Academy of Country Music in Tamworth, after winning the ‘Road to Tamworth’ scholarship.
Flowers features Northern Territory musicians Aden Mackay (electric guitar), Ben Allen (mandolin & banjo), Tom Jones (bass), and Mark Smith (drums). The track was produced, recorded, and mixed by local engineer Danny Christie, and mastered by Sam Moses (Moses Mastering) in Nashville, Tennessee.
