Long weekend in alice springs

What happens when a man with a dead dog in the back of his car encounters a Russian doctor in the ‘dead heart’ of the Australian continent?  What do Alice Springs and Jerusalem have in common?  Does the land invent us or do we invent the land?  Who is cannibalising whom?  And is there a way out?

These are some of the Big Questions Jungian Psychoanalyst Craig San Roque tried to unravel one long weekend in a meditative essay recently turned into a graphic novel by Joshua Santospirito as way of trying to understand the culturally hybrid space that is Alice Springs.

In today’s programme we talk to Craig San Roque and film maker Penelope McDonald about Joshua’s work.
