NCL logo8CCC is proud to be involved in National Contemporary Landscapes – a nation-wide collaborative community radio series exploring Australian Contemporary Classical Music.

8CCC has teamed with 3MBS Fine Music Melbourne and seven other community radio stations from every corner of Australia to create an exciting 10 part radio series with episodes focusing on the diverse contemporary classical music scenes across the country.

Episodes feature exclusive recordings created for the series, interviews with musicians and composers, and valuable local insights. The series features one episode dedicated to Indigenous musicians working in this genre, produced by 3 Kool N Deadly Melbourne.

8CCC’s episode is produced and presented by Jeff Kessel, past station manager and co-presenter of Humbug Rehab.  8CCC’s episode will feature artists from across NT, including Kris Keogh (Nhulunbuy), Dr. Flouride (Tennant Creek), R1V1ERA and Beatrice Lewis (Alice Springs).

Participating stations are 3MBS Fine Music Melbourne, 8CCC in Alice Springs & Tenant Creek, 3KND Indigenous Radio Melbourne, 4MBS Brisbane, Edge Radio Hobart, 5MBS Adelaide, RTRFM Perth, Fine Music Digital Sydney,  and Artsound Canberra.

The series features some of Australia’s best known new music practitioners and some of our rising stars, including Elena Kats-Chernin, Deborah Cheetham AO, William Barton, Kupka’s Piano and Elision Ensemble to name a few.

The one hour episodes air on 8CCC from Friday 5th September 2014 at 9pm on 102.1FM and online at www.8ccc.com.au/live, and can be heard on all participating station and online at www.nationalcontemporarylandscapes.com.
